The UNM Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to announce its 2012 Spring Production Season; bringing compelling dramas, world premieres, and three thrilling dance concerts to the stages of the Department of Theatre and Dance. From the choreography of UNM’s stellar dance faculty in NOVA, to the futuristic sci-fi thriller Port Twilight, to the 12th Annual Words Afire Festival, this repertory offers something for everyone
The University of New Mexico is offering Theatre Classes for Young People every Saturday from February 4 to April 21st this spring! An offering of seven different classes for ages 4 all the way through 15 will take place at UNM’s Center for the Arts. Some of the classes offered include Acting Initiation, Acting for Film, and Musical Theatre. Classes culminate in a final showcase performance for family and friends.
Doctor Faustus, is a new take on the classic play by Christopher Marlowe, directed by Justino Brokaw, with performances October 21-30 in the Experimental Theatre, Co-Produced with SCRAP (UNM Student Theatre Organization)
Moving Forward, A student choreography showcase, performs October 21-30 in the Carlisle Performance Space. Pushing the cutting edge of art and movement in a variety of dance forms, the talent and vitality of the emerging choreographers in the dance program at UNM are highlighted in this extraordinary concert of student works for the stage, Artistic directors Donna Jewell and Mary Anne Santos Newhall:
