Saturday Theatre Classes for Children

For over twenty years, the Department has offered acting classes for children and youth aged 4-15 in Saturday mornings during Fall and Spring Semesters.  These classes are offered in ten-week sessions for a modest fee to families in the community.  Classes are taught by qualified undergraduate and graduate Theatre students and cover basic acting skills, as well as developing imagination, creativity, social skills, expressive abilities and self-confidence.  Each ten-week session culminates in a showcase for parents and families. Some tuition scholarships are available for children who qualify for free or reduced lunch in the Albuquerque Public Schools.  Community members interested in being on our mailing list to find out about each semester's offerings, contact the Theatre Department Office at 277-4332 or by e-mail at
